This is probably my most sought after recipe. I’m asked how to make it ALL the time, and I usually hesitate for a moment when admitting just how easy it is. Of all the recipes I make and create and share, something that takes me all of 5 minutes to do is literally the favorite among anyone I make it for. So it’s time I write it out and share it with you.
Do It Yourself Probiotic Coconut Yogurt. This is literally coconut cream with probiotics to allow it to inoculate and ferment becoming a zingy, kind of tart, a little sweet from the real coconut, and super delicious yogurt to have on hand always.

This recipe is…
Quick.
Easy.
Low cost to make.
Super low maintenance (unlike making bread).
Thick and creamy like Greek Yogurt but way better for you.
Vegan and you won’t even miss actual dairy yogurt.
Trust me when I say just how it easy this is.
You will need:
→ Full fat coconut cream (do NOT skimp on this or use low fat)
If you want a thick and creamy, Greek yogurt like consistency then full fat good quality coconut cream is the only way. You can make this with cashew or other nut milks, but it will yield a much more liquidy texture.
This is the absolute BEST! Unless, of course, you make it from an actually fresh coconut. But whose got time for that?
My favorite full fat coconut cream.
→ Capsulated or powdered probiotics
If using capsulated – make sure they are veggie capsules that can be easily broken open since you only want to use the actual powdered probiotic.
This is the probiotic I use: Jarrow Formulas
→ A glass jar – size depending on how much yogurt you want to make. Think mason jar.
→ Wooden spoon
→ Cheesecloth or Towel or some kind of porous fabric to cover your glass jar.
→ Lastly, 5 minutes of your time to make it.
What to eat with it? Literally ANYTHING.

and fruit, of course.

But it’s also totally wonderful as a cooling topping to Indian curries, sour cream replacer on your enchiladas or tacos, add to soups to help thicken and make creamy, add to baked goods when you want a really moist, dense and decadent cake or sweet bread, aioli base, and more. The possibilities are endless. Enjoy getting creative with it.
